Heal The Blue Planet
Nowadays, the Earth, the unique planet suitable for human life in the universe as far as we know, is suffering unprecedented damage from human’s overexploitation activities.
Large areas of forest and grassland are being destroyed for the ore mining, hundreds thousands of unsorted garbage are thrown into the rivers and then discharged to the seas, and the air are polluted due to the immoderate waste gas emission from the massive factories.
The more sensational is I heard Japanese government decided to discharge over 1.25 million tons of nuclear waste water into the Pacific Ocean recently.
These poisonous water were produced during the terrible leakage accident of Fukushima Nuclear Power Station in 2011.
What a horrible decision it is! As everyone knows the nuclear material has strong radioactivity which is extremely harmful to life. It will even change the genetic genes and physical appearance of organisms.
If these dangerous waste water were drained to the ocean, they will pollute the whole ocean in only 57 days.
Countless of marine organisms will die or even extinct, mutation will occur on some of them and break the biological food chain. The whole ocean environment will be irreversibly destroyed entirely.
What is worse, because mobility of the water and organisms, if the rivers in land were polluted, the human being will face huge risk of extinction.
This ridiculous decision will cause huge negative effect human’s life, so we must take some measures to avert this disaster.
As a planet where oceans cover over 70% area, we must recognize the importance of the oceans to the earth and try all our best to protect the ocean environment.
We should sort the garbage in advance to avoid discharging the poisonous material to the oceans.
New clean recyclable energy, such as solar and wind, will reduce our demand for the petroleum extracted from offshore oil platform.
The moderate fishery industry will give the ocean organism system more room to develop healthily and in order.
For myself, I wish I could learn the technology as much as possible and invent a magic filter to return the oceans blue and clear!
